Blood and urine tests.

To understand more about the cause of symptoms, the course of an illness or the outcome of treatment, the GP may need to have your blood or urine tested.

Blood test

Blood sampling is performed by Atalmedial's laboratory. This is done by appointment only. Please remember to bring a valid ID if you have an appointment. If you have an appointment, you do not need to report in first. You can take a seat directly in the waiting room and will be called automatically. You can make an appointment via:

Urinalysis

Do you suspect a bladder infection? If you think you have a bladder infection, or if you recognise symptoms associated with it, it is important to contact the practice and have your urine tested. In 1 in 5 women with symptoms, it turns out that there is no bladder infection. The symptoms may be due to, for example a vaginal yeast infection or an STI.

Preferably collect your morning urine in a clean jar and seal it tightly. Deliver the container before 11:00 a.m. in at the practice. If that fails, put the jar in the fridge immediately and bring it within 24 hours. Do not forget to also the completed questionnaire to give to the assistant.

The result is usually known within one day. The assistant will contact you to discuss the result and the GP's advice.
